We all travel, but how many of us travel with the purpose of giving back. Giving back to the ones who aren’t privileged enough. So the idea of giving back, to travel with a purpose, to give back to the people, the community you are visiting.
Here is my video of travelling to Spiti, travelled to the extreme village of Hikkim.
Matheran (Forest in the forehead), nestled among the hills in Western Ghats. It is about 90 kms from Mumbai and 120 kms from Pune. It is a eco-sensitive region and Asia’s only automobile-free hill-station.
It is 800m AMSL. It is a hiker’s paradise and various look-out points, such as Charlotte lake, One Tree Hill Point, Heart Point, and Rambagh Point among many others.
Life give you surprises and this time through a small little girl At Dhankar Monastery. After I reached Dhanker, the place seems to be somewhere away from this world, sparse, dry ,old stupas..as if some lost kingdom. Amidst all this, I came across this girl who was having Lay’s chips and came close to me as I was clicking pictures of the monastery and surroundings. As I clicked one picture of her, she got interested and wanted to show me around.
She showed me around Dhankar Monastery, took me around and inside the rooms and where she stays. My eyes froze seeing the vast wide mountains with so many colour contours. We sat for a while together and then I gazed at the mountains as the little girl wanted to show me her place.
